My name is Asmare Mengistu. I am from north Shewa, Dabat wereda. I used to worship a satanic spirit god named Golemeshet. I used to worship, bow down and sacrifice sheep and poultries to this Satan thinking he would protect me. But in return, he made my legs wither so I could no longer walk. And for the last 16 years, I had been using a crutch to go from place to place. I had laboured both in modern medication and in other monasteries. But this year I heard about a hermit chosen by God named Abba Yohannes Tesfamariam. So, I came to this monastery. By being baptized persistently in this holy place, my withered body has been healed, got my full health, threw out my crutch, and now I am living, walking and working like everyone else.
