My name is Yisehak. I came from Addis Ababa, Wereda 11, Kebele 16. I have lived with brain cancer for 5 years. I use to bleed 10 times a day through my nose (7 times in the day and 3 times at night). For this reason, I rarely ever slept at night for 5 years, paranoid that “if the blood goes to my trout, it will kill me”. And in the day, I never slept more than 3 hours fearing the same thing would happen.

I spent 200 thousand birrs for medication at black lion hospital, and because I found no solution, they sent me a reference to a hospital in south Africa for brain surgery. But I didn’t want to have brain surgery so I started to look for a different solution. And I remembered seeing a lot of testimonies online from people who have been cured of HIV Aids, cancer, and many other illnesses by the prayer of Abba Yohannes Tesfamariam and I said “if God cured these people of HIV Aids, he will cure me too.” By saying this I started a journey to Wenkeshet Monastery, but my tongue was locked and I couldn’t speak. When I came into the monastery the nose bleeding that I had for 5 years that prevented me from sleeping disappeared. I became so overjoyed, and I tried to tell people what just happened but they did not understand me. And after 5 full years of no sleep at night, I slept all night in peace for the first time in years. After 5 days at the monastery, I heard a voice from my heart that said “Abba Yohannes”. I became amazed and said what is this? the same incident occurred a second time when I once again heard it in my ears, which left me to ponder “am I speaking?”. The third time around my mouth itself opened and said “Abba Yohannes” and at that moment my tongue was opened, and I started speaking again.

Since that moment I never have had any problems. I no longer bleed, and I can sleep whenever I want with my brain cancer completely gone by the mercy of God and the prayer of our father Abba Yohannes.
